Some days are better than others. This was one of the good ones. We think May 29th just might make the cut, too.

I am overjoyed at hearing this morning you were among those that will enter the HALL OF FAME this year !! I was thinking this morning…..you know how when you find out something…or have had something, like a good book or a great movie, or an experience, you want to TELL ABOUT IT ? I wanted to tell my girlfriend in another state how thrilled I was to kind of “know” these great radio people who are , and are well deserved, about to receive recognition of joining the greats of WGN in the Hall of Fame. But then I also thought……
How does one describe cold turkey, a couple of over night companions who were there when many people “needed” to hear a familiar voice in the middle of the night ? You can describe it… but you can’t give away the INWARD FEELINGS you have, and have them be overcome with that emotion. Oh, they will be polite and listen , smile and say.. ” Well, that’s great ! ” ..but you know they don’t really know.!
ok that does it… I am still going to tell my friend all about it. She already knows that for a hundred years every room in my home with a radio is stuck on one station…so because she likes me, she will say she understands….but between you and me.. we know she really doesn’t because she has been denied the joy of waking in the middle of the night only to be greeted by two special people !! Hey! How does that song go ? ” TWO SPECIAL PEOPLE WITH NOTHING TO SAY AND TOO MUCH IN LOVE TO SAY GOODNIGHT ” …
I share in your joy! You don’t even know the emotion we have for both of you !! Wear it proudly…but don’t pop the button !
