A Little More About “A Little More Les”

Back in May we teased you and told you we couldn’t say a whole lot more about it.

Well, now we can.

Our book about Les Paul, “A Little More Les,” is now in the hands of our publisher.  We had no idea of the amount of real work that goes into writing a book, particularly when it’s a book about something/someone you really care about and want to get right.

Hopefully, we did.

We wanted to do this book “old school,” so it will be published as a hard cover, four color edition.  Here is a look at the cover.

As you can see, Duane Eddy was nice enough to do the forward.  Charlie Daniels, Tommy Emmanuel, Doyle Dykes, Muriel Anderson and Frank Vignola added some of their memories of Les, too.

As it says on the cover, this book is a collection of conversations, photos and memories from our treasured friendship with Les.  We went through years and years of material from our archives and selected what we think is some pretty cool stuff to share with you.  Then, we stirred in a lot of previously never told stories and rare photos.  Hopefully, Les would have liked it.  Hopefully, you will too.

While the book won’t be out for a few weeks, for Les’s 100th birthday (June 9th) we announced a special pre-order offer.  You can pre-order an autographed copy, just by clicking on the link from the website alittlemoreles.com.

For those of you who are a little shy or distrustful of buying something on the web, our publisher, Bantry Bay Books, has set up a pre-order phone number, too.  Again, just click on the website link above and everything shall be revealed.

“A Little More Les” has been in the works for quite some time.  We’re very proud of it and can’t wait till copies are in our/your hands.

Congratulations! I will definitely be ordering my copy soon! I think if you guys every time Pawn Stars has a Les Paul guitar on the episode! Johnnie, I have to thank you for remaining a cheerleader for Maureen with her weight loss and “life ventures.” Her self esteem suffered greatly in the last weeks and months of her and Ted’s relationship. I still worry about him a lot, pray for him, and think of him often. I’m so afraid he flounders and hope he has champions like you guys in his corner. Thanks again and Congratulations on your great achievement!

Your title is brilliant !!! I know this was a real labor of love. I just bet you could and did think of tons more to put into this book. I also just bet that you ate, slept, dreamed, of this book every day…
Knowing your love for Les….what a joy to leave this MEMORY among the many memories he has left people with through all the years. And how WONDERFUL it is to have lived a life such as he did…and have what I already know without seeing your book, what a TRIBUTE it will be.

You gave birth to a dream, a memory, and a loving tribute to a man who gave so much a part of his life….to others….in his music.

I hope you both are greatly rewarded for this PLEASURE you are sharing with his fans. I thank you, Steve and Johnnie. …..you are THE BEST.

With the way you two (himnher) write the posts here and elsewhere, I can’t wait to read how you write a book. I hope your next book will be Behind the Air Waves with stories of what happened during the commercials that caused Steve to keep smiling and laughing. And I would like to hear Johnnie’s view of what happened on the other side of the air waves. So many more books left in you two……keep the pencils sharp!

  4. Jim Joiner says:

Congratulations guys! I was curious as to if you used any of my photos for the book?

    • Jim, we thought, in a previous reply and also an e-mail, we’d already mentioned that, yes, we were able to use some of your photos and that as soon as we have copies of the book one will be on its way to you. Thank you so much for your help.
