We’re on WGN Monday Morning w/Steve Cochran!

Just a heads up that, Monday morning at 9:10, we’ll walk in to the legendary Michigan Ave. Showcase Studio for one last time to join the Steve Cochran show with some reflections on the 32 years we’ve been a part of WGN Radio‘s Tribune Tower adventures.

Steve, Johnnie, Andrea Darlas & Steve Cochran

Don’t forget, even if you’re not in the Chicago area, you can listen and watch just by clicking on this link. http://wgnradio.com/on-air/live-streaming/

Just to wish you both well from Peter in England.

Sadly the WGN site now blocks potential listeners in Europe so I have no easy way to listen (though I may find a way around it!) …

This is down to EU GDPR rules which meant that many US media outlets have blocked EU until they fix cookies and advertising etc on their websites… mighty nuisance for now though…

    Anyway, have fun.

    • Great to hear from you Peter. It’s been too long. If you do find a way around the blocking, please let us know and we’ll share it with some of our other European listeners.

seems to work OK, luckily… I have been a user of the TuneIn Radio smartphone App

I’ve been using the TuneIn Radio Pro app on Android for years and bought the Pro version (which used to allow recording, but this apparently depends on region now) and now also for iPhone.

It seems like the WGN website is blocking access, perhaps because of cookies and other aspects (such as local ads). So anyway, while I could not access via the link you posted, I could hear the audio via TuneIn (and noticed that a presenter mentioned – for someone with a smart speaker such as from Amazon, Apple or Google, “play WGN on TuneIn” so they have no problem with that method of access.

Pleased that others overseas have an easy way to listen. If that link ever fails, then they should visit TuneIn.com and do a search for WGN or WGN 720

      • Peter M says:

The TuneIn site doesn’t need any payment and there’s a free version of the TuneIn Radio app as well as the (small fee) version. They are “pushing” subscription for some US sports broadcasting but there’s no requirement to pay anything to listen to WGN.

        PS
It wasn’t quite clear to me why this would be a ‘one last time’ but now I understand!

When I visited Chicago in November 1995 I remember looking into a studio from the street. Has been a while, but hopefully I will visit again, in warmer weather next time.
