Of course we hope you’ll tune in to 720 AM but, if you’re not in the Chicago area, you can still listen by clicking this link to WGN Radio’s live stream.
Thursday & Friday, 10/20 & 10/21 – 2022
2PM-6PM (Central) — Lisa Dent is going to enjoy a long weekend and, while she is, we’re going to enjoy hanging out with you in her space fosor a couple of days on WGN Radio.

We’ll post what we know about what we know as showtime closes in on us. So, you might want to check back in this space now and then to see what we know.
Friday, 10/7/22
6PM-10PM (Central) — Dave Plier decided to start this weekend with a Friday night off and asked if we could provide some of his soundtrack, so we will on WGN Radio.

Thursday & Friday, 9/22 & 9/23 – 2022

We’ll posting updates to our game plan as we figure it out so, as always, you might want to check back here now and then to know what we know as we know it.

Check back in this space for more as we close in on the show dates.
Friday, 7/8/22
6PM-10PM (Central) — Dave Plier is taking another night off and, since we didn’t trash the studio too badly the last time, asked if we’d like to hang out in his space again. So, once again, we’ll be sliding back into your speakers from the main deck of the Mighty 720, WGN Radio.
Among our guests will be two incredible talents who are also two of our favorite people, Josh Solomon and Erika Brett from The Empty Pockets.
Also joining us will be Jim Engel, noted cartoonist, illustrator, & designer, who is also the children’s television curator at Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications.

And, the man who has been called “Chicago’s Picture Poet,” our friend, Barry Butler, the internationally published landscape and cityscape photographer, stops by. We can’t wait to see how that conversation “develops” (Sorry, couldn’t resist!).

There is more to come and we’ll be posting updates in this space as we know them, so you might want to check back here now and then to know what we know as we know it.

Friday, 6/3/22
6PM-10PM (Central) — Dave Plier is taking a night off and asked if we’d like to hang out in his space. We said yes so, once again, we’ll be sliding back into your radio speakers on WGN Radio.

Yes, it’s “the third of June, another sleepy, dusty Delta day” and, since it’s a Friday and the weekend, we just might find a little time to play.
We’ll hop across the big pond for a report on Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee from “Chicago’s Royal Watcher” and multiple Emmy Award winner, Fred Weintraub.

June 1st marked the start of hurricane season and, since the predictions are for an above normal year, we’ll get an idea of what to expect as we check in with a man we frequently turn to while we’re at our Florida vacation home, Ross Whitley, Chief Meteorologist for WMBB in Panama City FL.

Among our other guests on this side of the water will be Ron Romero, Founder & & Chairman of the Board of the “Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66”. We’ll get the details of their 2nd Annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sunday, June 5th, 2022 at the Rialto Square Theatre in downtown Joliet.
Also joining us will be one of this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, who happens to be a dear friend, the man behind The Ides Of March and many other incredible musical adventures, the multi-talented, Grammy winning, Jim Peterik.

Consumer Guide Automotive‘s Publisher, Tom Appel, will recap some of the best new vehicles he sampled at the, just concluded, Midwest Automotive Media Association’s spring rally.

Friday afternoon, 12/31/21
3PM-7PM (Central) — We’ll be sliding back into your radio speakers on WGN Radio a little earlier than usual on this New Year’s Eve as we help to slam the door on 2021 with a whole lot planned including …
We’ll have a “world premier” of a really beautiful new song when we’re joined by two of our favorite people, Carl Giammarese of The Buckinghams and Lisa McClowry.

These two incredible performers have been having fun doing a few videos together and now they’ve combined their talents to write and record a terrific new song. And, as a special thank you, ONLY if you’re one of our New Year’s Eve listeners, you’ll be able to get a free download of the song we’ll be premiering.
Speaking of our favorite people named Lisa, one of the exciting new items on the 2022 calendar is the addition of, long time Chicago radio personality, Lisa Dent as Monday-through-Friday afternoon host at WGN. You’ll hear this member of the Country Radio Hall of Fame with Steve Bertrand next year and you’ll hear her stop by to celebrate with us on our year end wrap up party.

We’ll take a look back at 2021’s biggest tech stories and preview what 2022 has in store with our former Website Wednesday Night Cybersquad chief, Patrick Crispen.
Patrick is now the Director of Educational Technology and Assistant Professor of Clinical Medical Education, Keck School of Medicine of USC.
Consumer Guide Automotive‘s Publisher, Tom Appel, will recap some of the best and worst of 2021’s automotive scene and give us a preview of what to look for in 2022.

One of the many unexpected impacts of all of us spending more time at home during the pandemic has been the explosion of the collectibles market. Our long-time friend who founded the Chicago Comicon, Gary Colabouno, joins us to talk collectibles and pop culture collecting the past year and moving into 2022.

As always, this is just a part of the game plan because, you know, we have to have a surprise or two, just to keep things interesting. Trust us, it’s been a while, so we’re gonna party like it’s New Years Eve! Remember, no cover charge and no dress code!!
In the Chicago area, just tune in to 720AM but, don’t forget, you can listen in from anywhere in the world just by clicking this link to WGN’s live stream.

Thursday evening, 6/10/21
7:35PM (Central) — Steve will be joining John Landecker on WGN radio to talk about the extraordinary resurgence of Steve’s record “Satan Is Her Name” and a bit of his life before radio. However, given the history John and Steve have, it’s doubtful that the topic of radio or, for that matter, anything else will be off the table. Even if you’re not in the Chicago area, you can tune to WGN’s live stream just by clicking this link. This should be fun!

*** For the moment, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, all of our public appearance events have been put on hold. We may pop in to your radio speakers now and then, but it will be a while before we see you, in person. When we start scheduling public appearances, again, you’ll find them listed here. But, for now, we hope you’ll join us and show how much you care for those you love by staying “safer at home,” too.***

We’ll be following the new time slot for Patti Vasquez & Andrea Darlas and preceding Nick Digilio‘s expanded show. The game plan is to make it a fun/entertaining Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Special Message From Steve & Johnnie:
Because Steve’s Autoimmune Hepatitis has, unfortunately, gone from being in remission to having returned, we’re currently limiting the time we spend in and around crowds or anything resembling a large group of people. So, for a while (hopefully a SHORT while) we’re putting off any public appearances until the hepatologist gives his OK. The good news is that weekly blood work tests are showing improvement and we’re in regular contact with the doctor. We may still pop into your radio speaker now and then, but as for public appearances — not right now but, hopefully, sooner rather than later. Thanks for understanding.
