We’ve been big fans of the Illinois Entertainer for a long time. Back in the day, when the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame was looking for a place to live, along with “The Iceman”, Jerry Butler, and other notables from the Chicago area, we were part of Mayor Harold Washington‘s committee to raise funds and support for the idea of Chicago being its home base. Well, the Illinois Entertainer stepped up and helped us to get thousands of signatures on a petition to further the cause. Unfortunately, even though we had secured all those signatures, $4o MILLION and Navy Pier as a site, Cleveland got the hall.
Oh well, point is, the Illinois Entertainer stepped up and we’ve always thanked them for that.
Well now we have to give another huge thank you to the Illinois Entertainer and Rick Kaempfer for the nice article about us in the Illinois Entertainer’s October issue. You can pick it up free at book stores, music stores and other cool places or just click this link.
Great article! And now I have another S&J story that I never knew about. You met Mayor Washington? You tried to get Chicago to do something???? WTG! And I can’t wait for the S&J book to come out. But I bet it will be a big book!!!
